Working with an awkward space under stairs is a challenging job. It often becomes a place for storage or a dead space not worth investing anything into. But today we visit a fabric designer’s shophouse and take a look at her ideas about how to turn the under stairs space into a funky-looking pantry.
The home owner is a frequent tea drinker, so this corner functions as a counter bar for preparing drinks for herself and visitors. Cream- colored mosaic tiles are used for the countertop providing a clean look while dark-colored cabinetry underneath discreetly blends in with the wall.
Opting for a small fridge and a small sink is the perfect call for dealing with the height issue. The black and white checkered floor gives a pop of contrast to the deep blue wall. A graphic fabric wall hanging, that changes in conjunction with the designers new collection, adds a bold and colorful signature zing to this corner.
