Art is long. Life is short
There are many ways to make a debut in graphic design, but arguably no one quite pulled it off like Stefan Sagmeister, who literally stripped design down to the raw when he sent out a out postcard of himself, naked, to potential clients announcing the opening of his Sagmeister Inc. studio in New York city. He once designed a lecture poster for the AIGA and typographer.
He won two Grammy Awards for best music packaging design. Both his books, “Things I have learned in my life” and “Made You Look” are popular among designers. His company is also known for its yearlong sabbaticals taken every seven years. In 2012, Sagmeister once again shocked the crowds announcing the new partnership of Sagmeister& Walsh and telling the world, by the new nude photo of himself and Walsh, that they would do just about anything for design.
